                    REAL MEN GIVING REAL TIME
WHAT THEY SEE IS WHAT THEY'LL BE
2007 Annual Beautillion Militaire Program Cover. Susan St. James, Artist

 President's Message

While remaining unified as a people, we must diversify our energies if progress is to continue.  At the same time some of us are seeking political office, others must seek high office in the labor movement; prominent places in the corporate power structure; leadership among the American intelligentsia; and our appropriate places in American education, science, law, small business and the arts.

Through our passionate commitment and diligent effort, we have come a long way; however, the challenges of the future will not defer to the achievements of the past.  It is our imminent responsibility to prepare new leaders to boldly carry the torch when its glow no longer shines upon us.  We must stay engaged, make the most of every moment and defend the gains others fought and died for because failure is not an option.

The “100” is uniquely positioned to execute positive change in the community we serve.  We will use every resource at our disposal to effect change that is beneficial and fair.  We will help to recognize who or what is our adversary and dispel the insanity of treating each other as the enemy.  Until we can believe and trust each other, our collective progress will continue to be marginalized.  At this critical moment, we must do two things: bolster our achievements against regression and prepare our youth to build upon the solid foundation they have inherited.  I am confident that you will join us on the frontlines of the battle to improve the quality of life of those who look to us for leadership.
